How to make your weekly habit tracker
Type up to eight habits. Give a habit a floor and a ceiling if you want them on the sheet: the floor is the smallest version that still fully counts, the ceiling is your best-day version.
Pick real dates and the week it starts, or choose Undated and print a stack of blanks. Print one week, or two or four at once for a month of pages.
The boxes are big on purpose. Tick when you step on the floor, star the days you burst through the ceiling, and count the row at the end of the week.
Two lines at the bottom ask what you are proud of and how to make the floor easier. The second one is the secret: a floor you keep lowering is a habit you keep.
Why a week is the right size
A month grid is a wall of tiny boxes and a bad Tuesday looks like a crater. A week fits on one page, ends soon, and gives you a fresh sheet every Monday.
Seven days is also long enough to see a pattern. Three empty Thursdays in a row means the habit needs a different time, not more willpower.
Paper cannot remind you or let a friend see the tick. Plenty of people run both: the sheet on the fridge, and a huddle of friends cheering the daily checkin.
Questions people ask
Should a weekly habit tracker start on Monday or Sunday?
This one starts on Monday, with the weekend at the end where it is easiest to see. Most people plan their week on Sunday night, so a Monday start means the plan and the sheet line up.
How many habits should I put on a weekly tracker?
Three to five. The sheet allows eight because some people track tiny things like water and vitamins, but every habit you add makes the others easier to skip. Start small and add one when a row has been full for a month.
What do the floor and ceiling mean on the sheet?
The floor is the smallest version of the habit that still fully counts, the thing you can do on your worst day. The ceiling is the best-day version. Tick the box when you step on the floor; star it when you burst through the ceiling. Both are the same habit, done.
Can I print the weekly tracker without dates?
Yes. Choose Undated and the sheet prints with a blank Week of line and plain day names, so you can print a stack and fill in the dates as you go.
